Natural Watermelon Tourmaline & Diamond Ring in 18ct Gold

A 3.31ct Square Natural Watermelon (Bi-colour) Tourmaline is set between four baguette-cut natural diamonds totalling 0.56cts. The gemstones are mounted in a composite setting with the tourmaline in 18ct yellow gold and the diamonds in 18ct white gold on a 18ct yellow gold band. The ring has a flat profile and feels substantial. The overall effect is art-deco inspired.

Bi-colouration in tourmalines is a natural phenomenon and occurs when there is a change in chemistry as the crystal grows. The pink and green in this gemstone are intense and desirable, and there is well-defined, clean separation of the colours. It measures 8.4 x 7.3mm. The baguette diamonds are F/VS and give structure and balance to the design

The combination of pink and green are known as watermelon tourmaline and are thought to represent the merger of heart and mind. Tourmaline is a birthstone for October.

The banding visible in the lower half of the tourmaline is a reflection of our photography gear off the gold section beneath the setting. We've elected to retain it and the integrity of the image. It is not visible otherwise. This gem was hand picked by our expert gemmologists.
